Arrival & Terminal
Maó has a natural harbour around six kilometres long, where ferries, cruise ships and cargo vessels are handled side by side. Ferry traffic runs from the quays at Moll Cos Nou on the north side of the harbour, outside the old town; the pier and desk Trasmed uses for your sailing are shown on your ticket and departure notice. Follow the signs to the port by car and allow time for the approach along the harbour front.
Check-in & Departure
Trasmed's check-in closes 60 minutes with a vehicle and 30 minutes on foot before the scheduled departure; latecomers have no right to boarding. Every traveller - including babies and pets - needs their own boarding pass, available online, in the app or at the port desk. Keep photo ID and your boarding pass ready: if the details don't match, boarding will be refused.
On Board
The route is served by a conventional ship, currently the Ciudad de Soller according to the feed. For six hours at sea, it's worth checking the accommodation: which seat categories or cabins your sailing offers is shown at the booking step. Catering and Wi-Fi depend on the ship in use. Alcoholic drinks you bring on board yourself may be held by the crew until arrival.
Vehicle, Bike & Pet
Cars, motorbikes and motorhomes can be booked subject to available deck space. The vehicle must match the one entered on the ticket and have the stated length and height, otherwise Trasmed doesn't guarantee transport. Garages stay closed during the crossing, so pack everything you'll need for six hours into a cabin bag. Arrival & Onward Travel
Palma is the largest of the five ports run by the Balearic port authority and sits right in front of the old town. The ferry terminals - the Estaciones Marítimas on the Paraires and Poniente piers in the Portopí district - lie at the western end of the seafront promenade; the destination pier for your sailing is shown on your ticket. With the afternoon departure from Maó you'll arrive in the evening - arrange pickup, bus or car hire around the confirmed arrival time.
Tickets & Fares
Trasmed sells three fare tiers: Sin Flexibilidad, Flexibilidad Media and Flexibilidad Plus. Date, route, time and accommodation can be changed depending on the tier, but you can only cancel with Flexibilidad Plus - on a sliding scale based on how close you are to the travel date, with a deduction on the day itself. From Maó direct to Palma
Mahón-Palma is sailed by Trasmed with a conventional ship, currently the Ciudad de Soller according to the feed, taking around six hours. The route isn't a regular scheduled service - the feed shows around one departure a week in the afternoon from Maó, with sailing days from September to April.
